Course overview

Kaplan Professional, in conjunction with NZX Limited, is offering two New Zealand tailored subjects along with Kaplan Professional’s postgraduate subjects for the completion of the NZX Limited Diploma.

This qualification is awarded by NZX Limited.

The NZX Limited Diploma is the minimum educational qualification required to become an accredited NZX adviser. NZX formulates the standards required of market participants in its participant rules.

Candidates should refer to the NZX Market Participant rules for requirements of becoming an NZX adviser. On successful completion of the required subjects, candidates can apply to NZX Limited to become an accredited adviser.

What you will learn

You will learn the regulatory framework of the securities industry in New Zealand, including the requirements for market participants and NZX Advisors. You will also learn of the major local and global finance market participants and their interrelationship. 

Study will also explain key economic principles and financial market concepts in a global context. 

Course structure

Four (4) compulsory subjects

  • 405N The New Zealand Stockmarket
  • 508N Securities Law and Market Regulation in New Zealand
  • FIN101 Financial Markets and Economic Principles
  • FIN103 Financial Analysis and Valuation

Elective subjects (choose any two (2))

How to apply

1. Check entry requirements

Each Kaplan Professional postgraduate qualification has minimum entry requirements. Please ensure you meet the eligibility requirements required to enrol. 

In order to complete your studies with Kaplan Professional, you are assumed to have the following skills and access relating to technology. 

2. Check for possible exemptions

You may be able to obtain advanced standing for Kaplan Professional subject based on your previous study, professional membership status and work experience. 

3. Choose a subject

Not all subjects are available in every study period so make sure you check your preferred subject is offered. Check the subject outline to understand the hours of commitment and prerequisites.

Make sure you check the assessment timetable to ensure you are available to sit the assessment pieces. 

4. Enrol

You only pay fees for subject(s) in which you enrol each study period. Check the fee schedule for more information about fees.

You can enrol now and supply documentation to support your application for enrolment at a later date, within three weeks of your initial enrolment into the qualification.  On enrolment, new postgraduate students will be required to post an original certified copy of their previous studies.  If you are paying by cheque, utilising a deferral or have a preferred client code you will need to download a copy of our paper-based enrolment form. 

Tuition Fees

Australian Fee Paying (AFP): $14,400 total course cost.
