About this course

This is a full-time, 2 year degree. Attendance on campus is required and there is no provision for online/distance education in this degree. The course begins with compulsory classes during Orientation Week (late February) and runs until the end of November. This course will involve an innovative, enquiry based curriculum, incorporating a problem-based learning format. Learning experiences will be accessible both on and off campus, providing opportunities to integrate theory with clinical practice. Students will undertake a number of clinical placements across the course which will ensure they reach the competencies required to practice in Australia and many other countries in the world. These will be offered in metropolitan Adelaide as well as rural and remote areas, including Darwin and Alice Springs with the possibility of international placements. Graduates of the Flinders Master of Speech Pathology will be equipped to begin practice in a wide range of health and educational settings. The course will foster students' ability to respond effectively to the changing nature of professional knowledge and practice, ensuring their ability to provide quality services throughout their working life. Accreditation of the Master of Speech Pathology Speech Pathology Australia is the professional accrediting body for all speech pathology programs in Australian universities.
