About this scholarship

This scholarship is designed to provide financial support to enable a doctoral student within the School of Education to make substantial progress towards her/his research programme. The scholarship is offered on the basis of academic merit, teaching experience and a commitment to undertake research directed to enhancing the quality of teaching. Dr Susan Holland Scholarship recipients studying full time will receive $10,000 in two payments of $5000, students studying part-time will be paid pro-rated. Students are eligible to re-apply annually.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • have experience as a practising teacher;
  • be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident;
  • be enrolled or applying for enrolment in a doctoral programme in the School of Education at Edith Cowan University; and
  • have a commitment to undertake research directed to enhancing the quality of teaching.

Selection criteria

The successful applicant will be determined by the University's postgraduate scholarship selection process at the time.

Application process

To apply for this scholarship, you must first apply for admission into a Higher Degree by Research course if you are not already enrolled then complete the ECU higher degree by research scholarship application and indicate you wish to be considered for the Dr Susan Holland Scholarship.

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.
