COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement The COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory to be eligible to attend a WIL placement for this course. Students will be required to provide evidence of having completed a COVID-19 vaccination schedule by the closing date prior to a WIL placement. The vaccine received must be a vaccine approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia.

AHPRA requires an academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent, with a minimum achievement of 7.0 across all bands. For further information please refer to the Nursing and Midwifery Board Re-Entry to Practice.

Mandatory Reporting obligations to AHPRA

CQUniversity is required, under the National Law, to register students with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. CQUniversity has an obligation to make a mandatory complaint or raise a concern about a student to the Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency if the student has an impairment or health issue that may, either in the course of study or clinical training, place the public at substantial risk of harm.

Notifiable conduct by registered health practitioners (including students) is defined as:

• practising while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs

• sexual misconduct in the practice of the profession

• placing the public at risk of substantial harm because of an impairment (health issue), or

• placing the public at risk because of a significant departure from accepted professional standards.

Raising a Concern or Complaint to AHPRA

• a practitioner's behaviour is placing the public at risk

• a practitioner is practising their profession in an unsafe way,

or

• a practitioner's ability to make safe judgements about their patients might be impaired because of their health.

Assumed Knowledge

This course is tailored to students who wish to complete the course in one term.

• International Student Visa holders must complete all 3 units concurrently as internal students.
• International Student Visa holders must attend the compulsory Orientation Week.

• Internal study will only be available from the Cairns campus.

• Students on other visas may complete the course part-time in the following order: NURS20160, NURS20163, NURS20164.
