Students undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing will develop their knowledge and skills of advanced decision making in health care. In addition, the course has a strong focus on the development of leadership knowledge and skills and the importance of quality and safety in health care. Interpretation of health research is also featured.

The structure of this course allows students to select a project stream or a research stream relevant to clinical nursing.

Entry requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing, an applicant must:

  1. have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent;
  2. hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  3. be employed in a substantive position in their chosen specialisation, unless approved otherwise by the Course Coordinator.
